Who We Are
We started Zero Waste in 2021 to solve a simple problem we couldn't overlook: Waste management services in the Washington DC Metro area, including Maryland and Virginia, were falling short. Irregular trash pickups left our streets and business districts unkempt while lumbering garbage trucks blocked traffic.
Worse, the problem went deeper than litter on our streets. Residents and businesses were spending hard-earned money on services that were not just unreliable, but also unfriendly to our planet.
But we knew there was a better way.
Our mission quickly took shape;
We vowed to revamp waste management into a dependable, efficient and green service truly rooted in the community. We aim to not only clear your streets but also enhance urban life. That's why we offer customized solutions for every neighborhood and every business.

Meet Kenyon Walker, the trailblazer behind Zero Waste Services. His vision for a cleaner, greener DC led to the creation of the only resident-owned, Certified Business Enterprise (CBE), licensed solid waste and disposal business in the area.
A veteran of the Environmental Protection Agency, Kenyon is driven by a commitment to eco-friendliness and a recognition that how we dispose of our waste will determine our planet's future. At the same time, his background in technology and computer systems enables him to adapt the latest technology to an industry often seen as sleepy and change-resistant.
Under his leadership, Xero Waste not only manages waste but also champions community well-being and environmental sustainability. His dedication to the District of Columbia is evident in every service, from cleaning city streets to supporting local development initiatives. Kenyon's innovative approach and passion for service continue to propel Zero Waste Services as a leader in the industry.
